J2EE application development with XML using Enterprise Java Beans

Build database-driven applications that are "write once, view anywhere". EJB can generate XML on the fly from data in a database, then transform it via eXtensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) into HTML, PDF, or any other popular document format. For example, you could use EJB's and XML to provide clients with data in a platform independant way. Validate and import XML into your database via EJBs. XML is rapidly becoming a global standard for storing XML data. Using EJBs, you will build a distributed application that validates an XML file against a DTD or Schema, and then import the file's data into a database. Transform XML Into Multiple Document Formats. XML can be transformed into multiple document formats via XSL. During class, you will build an application that outputs HTML pages (for online viewing) and PDF files (for elegant printing) on request from data in your database. Using Entity Beans, you will be storing XML documents in a variety of ways. Besides storing the XML data into a relational database, this training will also introduce the usage of Native XML databases, allowing you to store complete XML documents into a database, query the contents of the database and retrieve these complete XML documents. Learn the basics of Webservices and their close relation to XML. The next generation of loosely coupled, distributed systems allows developers to locate and use services made available on the web. The introduction of the XML APIs in Sun's JAX-pack will provide a vendor independant way to make it all happen.Our J2EE Application Development course is about 60% hands-on lab and 40% lecture. Multiple complete mini-projects are laced throughout the course, designed to reinforce fundamental skills and concepts learned in the lessons.
