The Basic Administration for Citrix XenApp 6 training Skills Update course isan update from Presentation Server 4.0 / XenApp Presentation Server 4.5 / XenApp5 für Windows Server 2008 and provides you an overview about the newfeatures for an effective use and the administration of XenApp 6.0 for WindowsServer 2008 R2. In this course, students will be introduced to the new featuresin XenApp 6. Through instructor-led discussions and handson training, studentswill learn what’s new in XenApp 6, review new Services, Citrix Licensingupdates, Console changes, policies, HDX and Application Streamingenhancements.

Learners will receive hands-on training for installing Citrix XenApp 6 forWindows Server 2008 R2 and the associated Citrix plug-ins, as well as for usingadministrative consoles and tools to configure resources, policies, server andserver farm settings, virtualized applications and more. Additionally learnerswill receive hands-on training for using the Citrix XenApp 6 migration tool thatenables simple and fast migration from XenApp 5.

This course is intended for IT professionals, such as server, network, systemsand help desk administrators with experience administering Microsoft®Windows® environments containing Citrix XenApp 4 or XenApp5 . Systemsengineers, analysts, consultants, and architects with Citrix XenApp 4 or 5experience are also appropriate candidates for this course.

Vereiste kennis en vaardigheden

Before taking this course, Citrix recommends that learners have experienceusing Windows Server 2008, including an understanding of Active Directory,policies and profiles and knowledge regarding administering users, homedirectories, user profiles and security. Learners should also have previousexperience administering Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server 4.0 or higher), orcompleted the following courses:

• CTX-1256AI Citrix Presentation Server 4.0: Administration or
• CTX-1259AI Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server 4.5): Administration
• CXA-201 2I Implementing Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008
