Goals

• This course is designed to teach learners how to efficiently produce reports with heightened functionality and more robust data connectivity by using SQL Commands in Crystal Reports®.
• This course is not intended to teach users the SQL Language. Although some of the language's basic syntax is discussed, additional resources should be sought for further instruction in the SQL language.
• After completing the course, learners will be able to:
• • Describe SQL and Crystal Reports
  • Use SQL Commands to create Crystal Reports
  • Enhance Reports Using SQL Commands

Audience

• This course is designed for report designers, who have taken Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design I – Fundamentals of Report Design, Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design II - Business Reporting Solutions, Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design III - Report Processing Strategies, and Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design IV - Optimizing Report Data and who are responsible for creating and distributing reports.

Prerequisites

• * In this course you will be working intensively with Crystal Reports. * To successfully understand the content and complete the activities, you must already able to:
• Understand and use Windows conventions
• Understand basic database concepts
• Understand concepts taught in Associate level course * Note: Topics in BusinessObjects™ XI: SQL Commands build on concepts from Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design I – Fundamentals of Report Design, Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design II - Business Reporting Solutions, Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design III - Report Processing Strategies, and Crystal Reports® XI: Report Design IV - Optimizing Report Data. It is therefore very important that learners have a solid understanding of the concepts taught at that level before enrolling in this course.
