• Track Modules: Module 1: Replication Server Architecture Explore the pieces and parts that make up Sybase’s Replication Server, including their functionality, and how they relate to one another. Focus is on the critical foundation to understanding Replication Server, particularly the operations of the stable queues. Module 2: Configuring Parallel DSI Parallel DSI is probably the most significant feature for improving Replication Server performance. However, it's implementation is complicated and confusing. Learn how Parallel DSI works, how it is configured, and how to measure and tune its performance. Module 3: Measuring Latency with rs_ticket rs_ticket is a Replication Server component that can be used to monitor performance, replication system health, and replication quiescence. Learn how to set it up, use it, and understand it. Module 4: Stored Procedure Replication Key to efficient replication of large data changes, this module discusses the practice of stored procedure replication and the best practices for coding replicated procedures. Explore naming schemes and control which procedure calls are replicated. Module 5: Replication Server 15.1 and 15.2 Performance Enhancements With every release, Replication Server delivers new performance in enhancements. Releases 15.1 and 15.2 introduced dynamic SQL, SQL statement replication, and bulk copy insert. Learn how these features work and how to implement them. Module 6: rs_subcmp Examine the basic parameters that make up the rs_subcmp utility. Included is a demonstration of how to set up the rs_subcmp utility using both the configuration file and command line. You will also examine some of the new features in the latest versions of Replication Server. Module 7: Monitor and Counters Take a detailed look at what information can be found in the Monitor and Counters tables and how to interpret the output. Then, based on the output, you will focus on the component of Replication Server. Module 8: sp_sysmon Rep Agent Report See a demonstration of this very under-utilized report that details the well being of the Rep Agents.
