SEM-BCS for End Users

Goals

• Course participants will acquire all necessary knowledge for creating consolidated financial statements with SEM-BCS.

Content

• Navigation in the consolidation monitor
• Master data terms: such as database, consolidation area, units, items, breakdown group, default values
• Creating new items and assigning the appropriate breakdown group
• Using manual data entry layouts (searching for imported account assignments, changing values)
• Creating consolidation units.
• Creating additional financial data (such as supplier/stock data for interim profit elimination in working capital).
• Understanding and interpreting validations (interaction with database list totals records).
• Creating standardizing / adjustment entries in the system (interaction with database list totals records and access to line items, ABAP List Viewer options for individual layout design
• Currency conversion: interpreting the report that is created
• Performing interunit eliminations as a reconciliation measure. Interpreting the reports that are created
• Update mode of interunit elimination and reproducing postings.
• Manual postings across two consolidation units
• Capital consolidation – interpreting postings using initial and subsequent consolidation as an example
• Introduction to BW reporting (executing reports and creating your own simple BW reports)

Notes

• This course is not suitable for consultants who want to learn how to set up SEM-BCS. We recommend that key users attend course SEM240 (BW- Based Consolidation) or advanced course SEM245 (SEM-BCS Migration and Special Cases)
