The Bookkeeping course provides a thorough and clear understanding of the basics of accounting and finance.

Course Layout

Two-day teacher-led course with an assessment. The course is taught in English in a virtual classroom. The course is very practical and interactive. Participants from all over Europe take part in the course. The trainer is an experienced Finance trainer.

Course content

• Invoicing and the basics of accounting entries
• Filling out financial documents such as invoices and credit notes
• The registration of cash and credit transactions
• Practical explanation of the Double Entry System
• Ledger posting and the relevance of T-accounts
• Drafting and balancing a bank reconciliation
• Introduction to Accounting
• Year-end adjustments, including accruals, depreciation, prepayments, etc.
• Ledger Balance sheet and financial statements
• Drawing up a Balance Sheet based on raw data
• Comprehensive Balance Sheets and Year-End Adjustments
• Creating simple profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports from the trial balance

Extra information

The course teaches the fundamentals of accounting by explaining the underlying principles. It is also clearly explained how this knowledge is applied in computerized accounting. This allows accountants to understand their work rather than just "following procedures". This knowledge will help them progress and even excel in the longer term. There is a supplement for computerized bookkeeping as an option. The course is taught in English and the international standards for finance are followed.
