Relational Databases & REST APIs Boot Camp

We cover the whole backend development process: from the database setup and modelling your data to defining endpoints to interacting with and testing your server. By the end of this boot camp, you will be able to understand the basics of databases and generating tables and know how to use these tables.

Who's This Course For?

This course is for you if you want to learn to build APIs and use databases. Server-side applications are necessary to provide authentication, authorization, and manage data in a database. Often, the backend is also where the most complex logic is implemented. You do not need any experience to join this course.

Databases & REST APIs

In this boot camp, we'll focus on HTTP and networking, front-end/backend architecture, creating a REST API (server), relational databases and PostgreSQL, designing a data model, relations, migrations, and connecting a web server to a database.

Backend Authorization

Are your App users allowed to do what they're trying to do? It's time to ensure only those with an admin role can access your control panel. You'll cover Authentication APIs and how to build token-based login systems using JWT.

PostgreSQL, Sequelize & Express

After this boot camp, you'll know how to manage your database like a pro. You'll understand how to store, organise, retrieve, and aggregate data from the most advanced types of relational databases used in the industry.

REST API Challenge [ Project ]

You'll build an app that uses a REST API in the backend. You'll set up the backend from scratch! You will receive individual feedback on your work and where needed, our teachers can help you with a strategy for better implementing the learnings in your project.
