The situations are all familiar: informal exchanges over lunch, networking at events, responding to a neighbour in the lift or a cashier at the supermarket.

You don’t need a basis in Dutch to sign up. This course is especially geared towards professionals who are just starting out in the language. We keep things light-hearted and practical, so you can get started right away.

Speaking with confidence
Above all, this course will help you connect in ways that are friendly and easy. Learn to introduce yourself, ask questions, make small talk and respond to comments. You will get to practise these skills in small groups with lots of interaction. The language of instruction is partly English.

Language and culture go hand in hand
During the course, you will also learn more about Dutch culture – both personal and professional. Why do the Dutch seldom hesitate to say what they think? Why do they have a quick lunch and like to talk about the weather? The course also explores these aspects of communication to help you find your way and get a real sense of what makes the Dutch tick.

Your input matters
Every group is different. With this in mind, there is plenty of scope for your input. What do you want to be able to talk about? What do you find tricky? You can contribute your own examples: situations that we can all practise together. A great short cut to learning exactly what you need to know.
