The Docker Fundamentals training, developed by the open-source experts at AT Computing and exclusively available via Vijfhart, gives you the practical skills to start working with containers right away. In three intensive days, you will learn how Docker has become the de-facto standard for running containerized applications at scale and why it is such an efficient solution for modern development and DevOps workflows. From understanding Docker’s origins and high-level architecture to working with its powerful API and key building blocks, you will quickly gain both theoretical insight and hands-on experience.



During the training you will cover the entire container lifecycle: from building images with Dockerfiles and applying best practices, to running and managing containers, handling storage with volumes and configuring networking between services. You will work with registries such as Docker Hub, explore image layering and metadata, and learn how to push and pull images to support collaboration. The course also includes the use of Docker Compose to define and manage multi-container applications, as well as Docker Swarm to orchestrate services, manage replicas, and perform rolling updates. Along the way you will strengthen your ability to monitor, debug and troubleshoot containers in real environments.



The training combines theory with extensive hands-on labs. You will build your own images, create and manage containers, mount volumes, experiment with networks, and work with Compose files and YAML syntax to manage stacks. By actively practicing these scenarios yourself, you build the confidence to apply Docker immediately in your daily work.
