This two-day SAFe Scrum Master training program will give you an understanding of the role of a Scrum Master in a SAFe enterprise. Where the traditional Scrum Master training focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, this program explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise. You’ll be prepared to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization. This includes learning the key components of Agile at scale development, how Scrum is facilitated throughout the enterprise, and how to execute Iteration Planning.

After taking the SAFe Scrum Master exam, you’ll certify as a SAFe Scrum Master (SSM). This certification signifies you’re able and prepared to perform the role of Scrum Master in a SAFe environment, increasing your value to teams and organizations that are implementing SAFe.
Our SAFe Scrum Master courses are taught by one or two (SAFe Program Consultants) or even SPCTs (SAFe Program Consultant Trainers). These inspiring trainers are consultants who are active in the field and have extensive SAFe experience in training and implementing SAFe at large organizations

Two-day training program
The SAFe Scrum Master course is a two-day training program. Each course day starts at 9:00 and ends at 17:00, and includes a complimentary lunch and an afternoon break.
Please note: The hours for our virtual courses are always 8 hours per day.

- Characterizing the role of the Scrum Master
- Experiencing Program Increment planning

Prerequisites
Anyone is welcome to attend the course, regardless of role or experience.
For those who intend to take the SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certification exam, the following prerequisites are highly recommended:
- Familiarity with Agile concepts and principles;
- Awareness of Scrum, Kanban, and eXtreme Programming (XP);
- Working knowledge of software and hardware development processes.
Exam Details
- Exam name – SAFe® Scrum Master Exam
- Exam format – Multiple choice
- Exam delivery – Web-based; Open book
- Exam access – Candidates can access the exam within the SAFe Community Platform upon completion of the SAFe Scrum Master course.
- Exam duration – Candidates have 30 days from the course completion date to answer all questions and submit their exam.
- Number of questions – 45
- Passing score – 33 out of 45 questions (73%)
- Language – English
- Exam cost – The first attempt is free within 30 days from the course completion date.
- Retake policy – Each renewed attempt comes with a fixed exam fee.

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)
Attending this course means that you may be eligible to apply for 15 PDUs toward your continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications.
You may also be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing your CSP through Scrum Alliance.
